Shared Pedestrian and Bicycle Pathway Project Aimed at McCully

According to a report by Hawaii New Now, McCully will be the target of an upcoming project aimed at creating a safe space for both pedestrians and bicyclists.  The project is named "Shared Streets" and will dedicate an entire roadway to bicyclists and pedestrians, creating a safe place to commute without a car.

The project is hoping to reduce the amount of cut-through traffic in the neighborhood.  Barriers will be installed to adjust traffic.

The proposed route will stretch from South King Street to Kapiolani Boulevard along Hauoli Street, and Waiola Street from Kalakaua Avenue to Old Stadium Park.
