Honolulu Commuters Turn to Bicycles During Pandemic

A report by Honolulu Civil Beat shares that Honolulu bike shops are working overtime to figure out how to meet demand for bicycle sales and repairs.  McCully Bicycle and Sporting Goods, a family-owned cycle center that's been on the island for nearly a century, struggles to keep their showroom floor filled with bicycles to match customer demand, according to the report.

Traffic around Honolulu has began to ramp up as restrictions ease, but many are adjusting their once-routine schedules to fit a world requiring social distancing. The city has been working to expand bike lanes over the past few years to encourage alternate commuting.
