Activity at Kilauea Volcano Raises Alert Level

Following a swarm of recent earthquakes, the United States Geological Survey has raised the alert level for Kiluea's volcano from yellow to orange.  The report indicates that there may be shallow magma movement under the surface, though there is no visible evidence of an active flow.

Kilauea is Hawaii Island's most active volcano, with eruptions as recent as 2020 and remaining active through May, 2021, when it was declared no longer erupting.
