New Development “The Villas on the 8th” Announced for Hawaii Kai
A new boutique residential community, “The Villas on the 8th,” has been announced for the Hawaii Kai neighborhood in East Oahu. Located at 1285 Mokuhano Street, the development will occupy approximately three acres of R-5 zoned land bordering the eighth hole of the Hawaii Kai Golf Course. The project will consist of 14 newly constructed, detached single-family homes, adding fresh housing inventory to a predominantly established residential area.
The properties are designed as two-story, four-bedroom residences, each spanning over 2,700 square feet of interior living space. Structural plans specify steel-frame construction and standing seam roof systems. The interiors will feature 10-foot ceilings on the ground level, nine-foot ceilings on the second floor, hardwood flooring, and upgraded appliances. To align with modern energy standards, each home will be equipped with photovoltaic panels and a dedicated electric vehicle charging station within an attached two-car garage.
Currently in the permitting phase, the project is projected for completion in 2027, with initial listing prices set at approximately $2.5 million. The addition of these 14 units provides a targeted expansion to East Oahu’s limited supply of new-build real estate. For the local housing market, “The Villas on the 8th” reflects ongoing demand for modernized properties in Hawaii Kai, providing new residential infrastructure while maintaining immediate proximity to the neighborhood’s existing schools, commercial centers, and outdoor recreational sites.
