Construction is advancing on Ālia, a $400 million mixed-use luxury condominium project located at 888 Ala Moana Boulevard in Honolulu. Developed by the Kobayashi Group, the 400-foot, 39-story high-rise is situated within the Kaiāulu ‘o Kaka‘ako master-planned community, positioned between SALT at Our Kaka‘ako and Ward Village. The development is currently on track for a 2026 completion. The building is named after the Hawaiian word for “salt bed,” paying homage to the region’s historical salt flats while contributing to the ongoing modernization of Oahu’s southern shore.

The tower will introduce 477 residential units to the Honolulu housing market, comprising a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. The property includes 437 market-rate condominiums, which currently start at approximately $1.5 million, alongside 40 reserve housing units situated in the building’s podium. The introduction of these properties addresses the sustained demand for housing and walkable urban convenience in the rapidly growing Kaka‘ako neighborhood. However, as the 2026 completion date approaches, available inventory is already highly limited, reflecting steady interest within the local real estate market.

The building’s orientation and private lanais are strategically positioned to capture the cooling flow of natural trade winds, reducing reliance on air conditioning.
